Peak Of Racial Discrimination

Emmett Louis Till and his mom Mamie Till Bradley

There was a day in the history America, when the peak of racial discrimination took place. That was the period, when African Americans were under attack, that no African-American male in the South was safe. A fourteen year old boy Emmett Louis Till lived in Chicago with his mother Mamie Till Bradley, a teacher. Emmett and his cousin planned a trip to Mississippi to visit their relatives. Before leaving Chicago, his mother clearly advised him about how to interact with white people. Till's mother understood that race relations in Mississippi were very different from those in Chicago. Emmett arrived in Mississippi on Sunday, August 21st.

On Wednesday, Emmett and his five cousins went into town, Money, Mississippi, for picking cotton for his uncle. They visited Bryant’s Grocery store to buy some candy. The store was owned by a white husband and wife, Roy Bryant and Carolyn Bryant. Emmett friends challenged to flirt with Carolyn. It seems Emmett says “Bye baby” to Carolyn when he left the store. This news spread quickly around the store. Roy heard this story when he returned from work. He was very angry with Emmett.

Brutally killed Emmett

On August 28, Roy Bryant and his half brother, J.W. Milam, began looking for Emmett Till. They found him at his uncle's cabin. Entering the cabin with flashlights and Colt 45 pistols, they kidnapped Emmett. To teach him lesson, they drove him to a weathered shed on a plantation in neighboring Sunflower County, where they beat and then shot him. Three days later, Emmett’s corpse was pulled from the depths of the Tallahatchie River. It was weighted down by a seventy-five pound cotton gin fan, which was tied around Till’s neck with barbed wire, his right eye hanging midway to his cheek, his nose flattened, and a bullet hole through his head.

How a mother would feel the pain of her son’s death. It’s unexplainable pain. She made the decision to have an open casket funeral. She wanted the world to know what had happened to her son. Fifty-thousand people attended the funeral of Emmett Till. Milam and Bryant were never charged for Emmett’s death.

Teen Miss Universe

There was a beautiful event occurred fifty-seven years ago; a beautiful 17-year-old girl from Finland was crowned as Miss Universe. The first Miss Universe Pageant was held in Long Beach in 29 June 1952. It was won by Armi Kuusela from Finland. Armi Kuusela was crowned by actress Piper Laurie as Miss Universe. She looked gorgeous and outstanding, that’s why she merited for the Miss Universe title which was impossible for other 28 participants. On the day when she was crowning, she was only 17 years old. At the time, she weighed 49 kgs. Immediately after her winning there was a Finnish movie made of her, called Maailman kaunein tyttö (World's most beautiful girl) where she acted herself. Even though there are 57 Miss Universe titles crowned after her, Armi Kuusela glitters among them. Because there is a proverb saying "OLD IS GOLD".

BLACK TAJ MAHAL - THE OTHER HALF OF THE WONDER

Model of Black Taj Mahal

Shah Jahan and Mumtaz

Taj Mahal is a monument built for the symbol of true love. Taj Mahal was hailed as a ‘Epitome of Love and Beauty’; the great monument was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, after the death of his dearest wife Mumtaz Mahal, as a memorial. Shah Jahan cannot expose his love more than building Taj Mahal for Mumtaz. There is a myth in the history of Taj Mahal.
Bridge Connecting Twins

View from Black Taj Mahal

Shah Jahan decided to build another monument in black marbles exactly identical to the Taj Mahal. This was to act as his burial place, as his own mausoleum. He decided to construct it opposite to the bank of the River Yamuna and connect the two monuments by a beautiful decorated bridge. Shah Jahan began to build the tomb but the war with Aurangzeb (his son) interrupted his plan. Aurangzeb was not too keen on completing it afterwards. Shah Jahan spent the remaining eight years of his life under imprisonment looking at the Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan used to see the Taj Mahal from his balcony. Ultimately, he was buried beside his wife Mumtaz Mahal in the Taj Mahal. Black Taj Mahal- The other half of the wonder became only as a dream of Shah Jahan.

Kaaba - The House Of God

Kaaba in 1880

Diagram Of Kaaba by Hazrath Ibrahim

The most sacred place in Islam is the Kaaba in Mecca. Mecca is the place where our beloved prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was born. The Kaaba is a building located inside the masjid known as Al-Masjidu'l-Haram in Mecca. Kaaba was built by prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail. The name Kaaba comes from the Arabic word meaning "cube". It is made of granite from the hills near Mecca. It is covered by a black silk cloth decorated with gold-embroidered calligraphy and the name of the cloth is called as Kiswa. Many of the people questioning why Muslims worship the Holy Kaaba if in fact Islam is against idol worship. This is because; Kaaba is called as Qibla i.e., the direction Muslims must worship during the prayer. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah. Qibla is only the direction for worshipping.

Forgotten President of America

The most powerful nation of this world is United States of America. U.S.A is a well developed country with a good economy status. America plays a vital role in UNO. All these credits are not gained on a single day or by a single person. These reputations cannot be fulfilled without praising the presidents of U.S. So the first honor goes to first president of America. However, to whom all this praise goes to?

There is a chaos about the first president of America for very long time. Officially announced first president was George Washington. However, John Hanson was occasionally called the first president of U.S. because, he was the first man to serve a full term as President of the Continental Congress under the Articles of Confederation in 1781 and 1782.His predecessors are from Sweden. He was the successor of one of the greatest family traditions in the colonies and became the patriarch of a long line of American patriots. John Hanson was first elected to represent Charles County in the colonial assembly in 1757. He also served as their representative in 1758-1763, 1765, 1766, 1768-1769. At various times he held several positions in local government, including that of deputy land surveyor and treasurer of Frederick County. Then Hanson was elected to the Continental Congress in 1779. When the Congress selected a new president for the 1781-1782 terms, they elected John Hanson on November 5, 1781. Hanson was the third President of the Continental Congress. He was the first to serve a full one-year term, and the first to formally use the title President of the United States in Congress Assembled. The great seal of the United States was first used when he was a president. Thanksgiving Day was declared by Hanson on the fourth Thursday of every November. Yet six other presidents were elected after him - Elias Boudinot (1783), Thomas Mifflin (1784), Richard Henry Lee (1785), Nathan Gorman (1786), Arthur St. Clair (1787), and Cyrus Griffin (1788) before George Washington was selected. These people were not included in the officially announced presidents.

The letter shown above elucidates that he was the third president of America. John Hanson Letter as the 3rd President of the United States in Congress Assembled congratulating Thomas McKean for his service is irrefutable proof that he was not the 1st president of the United States or the 1st President of Continental Congress as maintained by the Smithsonian Institute in their Presidential Exhibit. Some proofs are there to prove Hanson as a first president of U.S and some to prove him as a third president. However, John Hanson had a great honor by representing him as a president of United States of America. Even so, he was forgotten in the President’s History.
