First Female Prime Minister


Women are the precious gift to the world. They give birth to a child after preserving him carefully in her womb for nine months. A woman can do all the impossible things and she can even rule the world. There are many great leaders in female and among them Sirimavo Ratwatte Dias Bandaranaike was a remarkable lady. She was the first female prime minister in the world. Sirimavo Bandaranaike was the prime minister of Sri Lanka thrice from 1960 to 1965, 1970 to 1977 and 1994 to 2000. Her husband Solomon Bandaranaike was also a great politician who founded Sri Lanka Freedom Party. They both are converted to Buddhism and after the assassination of Solomon she became the leader of Sri Lanka Freedom Party. She was the leader of that party for a long time. She died in the year 2000 due to heart attack but still she was remembered as the first prime minister in the world.
